Ingredients
- 5-7 cm fresh ginger, chopped
- 2-3 star anise pods
- 1-2 cinnamon sticks
- enough to yield 1 cup / 250 ml decoction water
- 3-4 oranges (to yield 250 ml juice) oranges
- 6 tbsp unflavored gelatin powder
Method
- Place the chopped ginger, star anise, cinnamon sticks, and water in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, then simmer over low heat for 15 minutes.
- While the spiced tea simmers, squeeze the oranges to obtain about 250 ml of fresh juice.
- Strain the spiced ginger decoction into a bowl or saucepan and stir in the orange juice. Ensure the mixture is warm, not boiling hot.
- Add the gelatin powder to the warm liquid and stir thoroughly until fully dissolved. If needed, gently warm the mixture over low heat, but do not bring it to a boil.
- Pour the liquid into a silicone gummy mold and smooth off any excess.
- Refrigerate for 3 to 4 hours until fully set. Unmold and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 7 days.
