Baghrir (Moroccan Pancakes)
By Alex (Dishful demo)
Baghrir is a traditional Moroccan pancake that is spongy and light, perfect for breakfast or a sweet treat. Enjoy it with honey or syrup!

Prep: 5 minutes · Serves 8
Ingredients
- 2.5 cups warm water
- 0.5 Tablespoon dry yeast
- 1 cup semolina
- 0.5 cup All purpose flour
- a dash salt
- 0.5 Tablespoon baking powder
Method
- In your blender, combine warm water, dry yeast, semolina, all-purpose flour, and salt. Pulse until everything mixes well together.
- Add the baking powder and mix again.
- Place the batter in a container and cover it to rise for approximately 30 minutes.
- After 30 minutes, the batter should be thin and easily pourable.
- Heat an 8” skillet over medium heat. Pour about ½ cup of the batter into the skillet, allowing it to spread to the edges. If it doesn't spread, thin it with more water.
- Cook until small holes appear all over the surface and no obvious uncooked surface remains, about 2 minutes.
- Let the pancakes cool down a bit before serving. Enjoy with butter and honey or your favorite syrup.
