Ingredients
- 1/2 medium watermelon
- 1/2 pineapple
- 1/2 cantaloupe
- 1.5 cups heavy whipping cream
- optional chocolate sprinkles
- optional waffle bowls
Method
- Cut the watermelon, pineapple, and cantaloupe in half. Hollow out the centers of each fruit, leaving about an inch of flesh on the sides and some of the natural juices at the bottom.
- Wrap each hollowed fruit half tightly in plastic wrap and place them in the freezer overnight until frozen solid.
- Once frozen, remove the plastic wrap. Pour about 1/2 cup of cold heavy whipping cream into the hollowed center of each fruit.
- Using a strong spoon, scrape the frozen fruit walls into the liquid cream, mixing continuously.
- Keep scraping and stirring until the frozen fruit slush and cream emulsify into a thick, smooth, soft-serve ice cream consistency.
- Flatten the surface with a spoon or spatula.
- Use an ice cream scoop to gather scoops of watermelon, pineapple, and cantaloupe ice cream.
- Serve in waffle bowls, top with chocolate sprinkles, and enjoy immediately.
